Mexicali, September 4. As part of the actions that have positively impacted Baja California families, Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda highlighted the results released in the first report by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
"Our country's economic policy has had a very positive result in the state, which is the significant reduction in poverty and the virtual elimination of extreme poverty in Baja California . We are the state
that has achieved the greatest reduction in poverty," the state leader stated.
In the educational field, he highlighted the construction of the Rosario Castellanos National University (UNRC) in Tijuana, whose progress will allow for the start of in-person classes in the coming days.
He also reported on the launch of the National Agricultural Irrigation Technology Program, which includes the Mexicali Valley, with the goal of strengthening food production and optimizing water use.
At the same time, construction is progressing on the Rosarito Beach desalination plant, a strategic project that will guarantee water supplies for Tijuana, Rosarito, and parts of Ensenada.
He elaborated on the modernization of the Río Colorado-Tijuana Aqueduct through far-reaching investments to ensure stable service. He also noted that the elevated viaduct in Tijuana is 91 percent complete .
Avila Olmeda highlighted the inauguration of the new IMSS hospital in Ensenada and the IMSS Bienestar hospital in the East Zone of Tijuana.
For his part, the head of the General Secretariat of Government (SGG), Alfredo Álvarez Cárdenas, offered details on the implementation of the Reconnect with Peace program, which provides second chances to young people prosecuted for minor offenses .
