East Java was named an Investment Climate Care Region at the 14th anniversary celebration of Kompas Television titled Harmones14 in Jakarta, for its success in creating a conducive investment climate.
"Alhamdulillah, this appreciation is concrete evidence of the collaborative efforts of the provincial government (Pemprov), regencies/cities, the business community, academics, and the people of East Java. All are working together with a united spirit to make East Java a national idol and investment magnet," said East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa in Surabaya on Thursday.
According to Khofifah, this award aligns with the achievements of macro indicators that demonstrate the efficiency of the business climate in East Java.
East Java's Incremental Capital Output Ratio (ICOR) data for 2024 was recorded at 5.65, lower than the national average of 6.47.
Khofifah emphasized that investing in East Java is more efficient than in other regions.
Furthermore, investment realization in East Java continues to show a positive trend, reaching IDR 147.3 trillion in 2024, an increase compared to the previous year.
By the first semester of 2025, East Java had recorded Rp74.7 trillion in investment, dominated by the manufacturing, trade, housing, and transportation sectors. The largest contribution came from the Greater Surabaya area.
"Thank God, East Java has always been a favorite and a magnet for investors, and we always strive to maintain that. This is especially true because investment plays a vital role in strengthening the regional economy, creating jobs, and accelerating equitable development," he said.
He added that the East Java Provincial Government will continue to strengthen licensing services, infrastructure development, and improve the quality of human resources to make the region more attractive to investors.
