Erick Thohir: Sports must be a tool to unite the nation

 Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir said that in the future, sports must become a tool for uniting the nation.

Erick Thohir was recently appointed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, as Minister of Youth and Sports, replacing the role previously held by Dito Ariotedjo.

"We will not forget Indonesia's youth. We must continue to build youth capabilities for Indonesia's future, enabling it to compete globally and to produce a generation that loves and contributes to its homeland," Erick Thohir wrote on his official Instagram page on Wednesday.

"Sports should also be a tool to unite the nation and serve as a national ambassador, reflecting our prowess on the global stage," Erick wrote.
