Eyewitnesses and medical sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces killed 43 Palestinians and wounded several others in a series of violent attacks since dawn on Sunday, with a large concentration of attacks targeting Gaza City, which the forces are seeking to occupy and displace its residents.
Israeli shelling targeted homes, apartments, aid workers, and civilian gatherings. Two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli army raid that targeted a tent housing displaced people in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip. Civil defense teams and citizens have recovered the bodies of 10 people killed during Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since dawn on Sunday.
This was preceded by the killing of five Palestinians, including a young girl, and the wounding of 15 others, as a result of targeting a gathering of civilians in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, according to a statement from the camp's Al-Awda Hospital.
In the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City, three Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a house. Israeli artillery also shelled the surrounding area of the Sheikh Radwan pond, amid heavy gunfire from military vehicles. Four Palestinians, including a child, were also killed in an airstrike targeting a house at the Ghazali junction.
The Israeli occupation army destroyed the Al-Jazeera Club on Al-Wahda Street, which was sheltering thousands of displaced people, in an airstrike. In the Al-Rimal neighborhood, two Palestinians were killed and others were injured when a tent housing displaced people near Al-Wafa Hospital in the Al-Saraya area was bombed.
In the Al-Daraj neighborhood in eastern Gaza, an airstrike targeting Al-Farabi School, which was sheltering displaced people near Yarmouk Stadium, resulted in the deaths of eight Palestinians and the injury of others. Residential areas were also targeted, resulting in the deaths of five Palestinians, including a woman.
Two children were killed and others injured when an Israeli drone targeted a tent housing displaced persons opposite the Tashree'i intersection in the Rimal neighborhood. In the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, east of the city, Israeli artillery and aircraft continue to bombard various areas.
In the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, a girl was killed and others were injured in a shelling that targeted the minaret of the Old City Mosque, while a Palestinian was killed in an Israeli drone strike in the town of al-Qarara, north of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
The death toll rises
In the latest official statistics, the Ministry of Health stated that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza has risen to 64,455 Palestinian martyrs and 162,776 wounded.
The ministry said: "87 martyrs (4 of whom were pulled from under the rubble) and 409 injuries arrived at Gaza Strip hospitals within 24 hours," explaining that "the death toll and injuries since the resumption of the genocide on March 18, 2025, until today has reached 11,911 martyrs and 50,735 injuries."
She pointed out that "a number of victims are still under the rubble and on the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them at this time," stressing that "the death toll from the Israeli aggression has risen to 64,455 martyrs and 162,776 wounded since October 7, 2023."
She noted that the death toll among aid-seekers since May 27 has risen to 2,416 martyrs and 17,709 injured, following the martyrdom of 31 Palestinians and the injury of 132 others within 24 hours.
She reported that hospitals in the Gaza Strip recorded "five new deaths due to famine and malnutrition within 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths since October 7, 2023, to 387, including 138 children."
Preventing the spread of famine
In this regard, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher said that the chance to prevent famine in Gaza is slim , warning that this opportunity is quickly fading.

In a statement published Sunday, Fletcher stressed that the death, destruction, starvation, and displacement of Palestinian civilians are the result of choices that defy international law and ignore the international community. He noted that Israel's latest displacement order against Palestinians in Gaza City comes two weeks after famine was confirmed in the Gaza Strip, and in the midst of a major military offensive.
He added, "There is a slim chance until the end of September to prevent the famine from spreading to Deir al-Balah (central) and Khan Yunis (south), but this opportunity is fading fast," adding, "We still insist on the possibility of stopping this horror."
He called for unhindered humanitarian access, the protection of civilians, and the implementation of the International Court of Justice's interim measures. He also called on the parties to release prisoners and cease fire.
Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes destroyed the "Vision Building" west of Gaza City, as part of its intensified targeting of residential buildings and structures in preparation for occupying the city. The seven-story building, comprising approximately 30 apartments, is located at the intersection of Beirut and Arab League Street in the west of the city.
This bombing comes one day after the destruction of the 15-story Al-Sousi residential tower in western Gaza City, which contained more than 60 apartments, and the day after the destruction of the Mashtaha tower in the city.
50 residential buildings destroyed
For its part, the Civil Defense in Gaza reported that the Israeli occupation army had completely destroyed more than 50 residential buildings in Gaza City since dawn on Sunday, and had partially damaged 100 other buildings housing thousands of Palestinians, as part of its ongoing attacks in preparation for occupying the city.
Mahmoud Basal, a Civil Defense spokesman, explained that the Israeli occupation army "has completely bombed more than 50 buildings since dawn today, while 100 buildings were partially damaged, including high-rise buildings housing thousands of residents."
He added that the occupation army "deliberately targeted buildings surrounded by displaced persons' tents and shelters, destroying more than 200 tents as a result of the bombing of adjacent buildings," noting that the bombing also affected "what remained of the mosques and playgrounds in Gaza City."
He pointed out that "Civil Defense crews received distress calls from citizens trapped under the rubble in the Zarqa area of the Tuffah neighborhood after a building was bombed over the heads of its residents," explaining that the crews "were exhausted by the intensity of the ongoing attacks on the city."
The Civil Defense spokesman described today as "one of the most difficult days of the war since it resumed on March 18," stressing that "the occupation is deliberately using this kind of bombing to reinforce its policy of forced displacement." He called on the international community to "take immediate and urgent action to halt the ongoing massacres in Gaza City."
The intensified targeting of residential towers has raised fears of catastrophic consequences for the city's approximately one million Palestinians, most of whom are displaced.
On August 7, the international human rights organization Human Rights Watch stated that since October 2023, Israel had destroyed 88 percent of the infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, including homes, and that most displaced Palestinians had no place to live except for schools and some university buildings.
After more than three weeks of intense bombardment, the Israeli occupation army officially announced on September 3 the launch of Operation Gideon 2, a military operation to completely occupy Gaza City. This operation sparked criticism and protests in Israel, fearing for the lives of prisoners and soldiers.
With American support, Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the operation.
