Al Ahli striker Ivan Toney said the Saudi Arabian League is on par with the English Premier League and is confident his club can compete in the Premier League.
Quoted from The Guardian, Thursday, Toney said that the quality of the Saudi Arabian League has continued to improve since the arrival of world-class players from various countries to defend local clubs.
"For me, (the Saudi Arabian League) is on par with the Premier League. If (Al-Ahli) were in the Premier League, we would be pushing hard and we would be close to the top four. This league is high-quality and people shouldn't underestimate it. We saw Al-Hilal play against Man City and beat them," Toney said.
Toney was referring to the 2025 Club World Cup round of 16 match where Al Hilal beat Manchester City 4-3 thanks to goals from Marcos Leonardo (2), Malcom and Kalidou Koulibaly.
