The Ministry of Communication and Digital will allocate the 2026 budget to several priority sectors, including digital infrastructure and digital ecosystem development.
Meanwhile, in a closed meeting with Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, the 2026 budget ceiling received by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Technology was set at IDR 8 trillion, or no increase from the initial ceiling.
"The Ministry of Communication and Digital's budget is IDR 8 trillion, so this is more or less the same as the initial ceiling, then the budget ceiling, and this is the definitive ceiling," said Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid at the Parliament Complex.
Previously, last July, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy proposed an additional budget of IDR 12.6 trillion for the 2026 fiscal year. This figure was proposed to meet the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy's budget needs in 2026 of IDR 20.3 trillion.
Meutya stated that her office is complying with the Budget Committee (Banggar) decision to not increase the 2026 budget for the Ministry of Communication and Digital Technology. Based on this budget determination, the Ministry will re-prioritize to ensure the smooth running of both the president's and the Ministry's programs.
"We comply and, of course, we are re-prioritizing the existing budget so that all programs, especially those related to the President's Asta Cita (Asta Cita) and Komdigi's quick wins, can be implemented effectively," he said.
