Mexicali, August 10.- Attorney Cuauhtémoc Castilla García was injured during an armed attack at his office , located at 1277 José María Larroque Street between D and E streets in the Second Section neighborhood, on Tuesday afternoon.
The 48-year-old university professor was immediately transported in his own vehicle to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
He was shot from a car with Anapromex license plates.
His son Ramón Antonio Castilla stated that subjects aboard an old black vehicle with burnt paint and Anapromex plates stopped next to their vehicle and fired gunshots at his father .
Following an operation in the area, the vehicle was located on Camelias Avenue and Río Nuevo in the Pasadena neighborhood, where it was taken into custody by the State Guard.
The lawyer was shot and wounded in the neck on the right side, and is in a delicate but stable condition , according to the preliminary medical report.
Three fired .40-millimeter cartridges and a bullet head deformed by the impact were found at the scene; the business's perimeter fence was hit four times.
Three vehicles under investigation
At least three vehicles are under investigation in connection with the incident; the first is a black four-door Sebring, described above, the second is a black Honda, and the third is a Toyota Solara.
In the black Toyota Solara vehicle, approximately 2002 model, with Anapromex FV73502 sticker, a fired .40-millimeter cartridge was found, supposedly visible on the outside of the trunk and body, according to official information.
