Tijuana, July 19.– Agents from the UTE (Special Tactical Unit) group of the Municipal Police were shot in the Vista Encantada neighborhood, located in the Playas de Tijuana district, triggering a large security operation that took place early Saturday morning.
The UTE is a specialized unit of the Municipal Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPCM), focused on carrying out strategic operations in priority areas and combating high-impact crimes.
According to unofficial information, officers attempted to stop a blue Chevrolet Silverado, whose driver ignored their instructions, leading to a chase during which gunfire was exchanged.
Seeing themselves in danger, the officers requested support from security forces.
