Two US technology companies, Open AI and Oracle, have reportedly sealed a deal to use US$300 billion (Rp. 4,939 trillion) worth of cloud computing power for a period of around five years.
This deal is touted to be one of the largest cloud -related deals ever.
As reported by The Verge, Thursday, this news was first reported by the Wall Street Journal, which stated that in July 2025 the companies had indeed revealed a partnership to build a data center with a capacity of 4.5 gigawatts of power as part of the Stargate project.
The Stargate project is a US multinational artificial intelligence ( AI ) joint venture between OpenAI, Oracle, SoftBank, and investment firm MGX, announced jointly by US President Donald Trump. It was not disclosed how much OpenAI plans to spend on the data center.
