President Director of PT Pertamina Simon Aloysius Mantiri emphasized that there is no monopoly on fuel oil sales by Pertamina, amidst fuel shortages at private gas stations , such as Shell and BP.
He explained that the fuel import quota obtained by Pertamina and each private gas station had been adjusted by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and BPH Migas.
The government's import quota allocation, he said, has of course been adjusted to the needs of each gas station operator.
"Of course, if we look closely, we're checking now that the private sector's allocations are in line with demand. The same goes for Pertamina," he said.
Regarding the government's directive to private gas stations to purchase fuel from Pertamina, he said that this was still under discussion, while what was clear at this time was that Pertamina's fuel stock was still sufficient until the end of the year.
"We're still in discussions with our team. Pertamina's stock is certainly sufficient until the end of the year," he said.
