Pertamina Geothermal Energy {PGE} President Director Julfi Hadi said the construction of the Green Hydrogen Pilot Project Ulubelu Tanggamus, Lampung, is targeted to produce up to 300 megawatts {MW} of energy.
"This pilot project is expected to accelerate the green hydrogen ecosystem. For Pertamnia itself, hopefully, we can develop 300 MW of green hydrogen sooner than 2029," said Julfi Hadi in Ulubelu, Tanggamus, Lampung, on Tuesday.
He stated that Indonesia is currently preparing an ecosystem so that by 2030 and 2033, it will significantly improve and enter the global green hydrogen segment, considering Indonesia's significant geothermal reserves.
Therefore, he continued, with government support, the development of green hydrogen must be accelerated.
Julfi said this project opens up off-grid business opportunities, eliminating dependence on PLN and entering the B2B business to accelerate the conversion of green hydrogen to ammonia or methanol for both domestic and export needs.
PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy officially built the Ulubelu Green Hydrogen Pilot Project in Tanggamus, Lampung.
This pilot project is the first in the world to integrate anion exchange membrane water electrolyzer technology with geothermal energy as a clean electricity source.
