Indigenous saxophonist María Elena Ríos Ortiz , survivor of an attempted femicide , reported that since December 2, the alleged mastermind of the attack against her, former PRI deputy Juan Antonio Vera Carrizal, has been hospitalized in the Reforma Hospital in Oaxaca City, from where she said he could escape due to lack of surveillance .
The problem, she explained, stems primarily from the fact that she, as a direct victim, must be notified every time the politician leaves Tanivet prison, where he has been held since April 6, 2020; however, neither the Superior Court of Justice nor the State Attorney General's Office informed her of this situation.
It was thanks to a third party that she learned that Vera Carrizal was hospitalized in the private hospital, where he had allegedly gone to a medical appointment on December 2, however, she said, 17 days have passed and he still has not returned to prison , the most serious thing she added is that upon arriving at this site she realized that the building did not have security, which could have led to the alleged assaulter fleeing.
