The death toll from attacks on Sanaa rises to 8, and a Yemeni missile triggers air raid sirens in Israeli areas.

The Houthi-run Ministry of Health stated that "eight citizens were killed and 142 others were injured as a result of the Zionist raids on Sana'a." The ministry noted that civil defense and ambulance teams are still searching for victims under the rubble and debris.

She described the "deliberate and systematic targeting of civilian, service, and residential facilities" as a "war crime in every sense of the word."

Meanwhile, the Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV channel reported that the Israeli raids on Sana'a "targeted the Dhahban power station and a residential neighborhood on Al Raqas Street in Ma'in District." The channel added that the raids also targeted residential neighborhoods in the Al Nahdain and Haddah areas in Al Sab'een District.

The channel quoted an unnamed source in the Houthi-affiliated Security and Intelligence Service as saying, "The Israeli aggression on Sanaa targeted one of the service's reformatories, which houses a number of prisoners and detainees."

Yemeni missile

Hours after the Israeli occupation army launched its new aggression against the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, air raid sirens sounded across large areas of Israel on Thursday evening after a single missile was fired from Yemen.

The privately owned Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that air raid sirens sounded in several areas in central Israel, including Tel Aviv and its suburbs and parts of Jerusalem.

The Israeli army said in a statement that its air force detected a missile being launched from Yemen.

Later, the Israeli army claimed in a statement that "air raid sirens sounded in several areas within Israel, in accordance with the policy of activating air raid sirens, before the missile was intercepted," it said. No injuries or damage were reported as a result of the attack.

Israeli comment

For his part, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a statement: "We have dealt a decisive blow to several Houthi targets in Sanaa."

Katz claimed that the attack targeted "several military camps, including a camp for the Houthi General Staff, killing dozens of their personnel and destroying drone and weapons stores," although the Houthis said the targeted areas were "residential neighborhoods."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said in a statement that he "issued the order to carry out the strike in Yemen from aboard the plane during his flight to New York" to participate in the United Nations General Assembly.

For its part, the Israeli military claimed in a statement that "dozens of warplanes and air assets launched raids targeting Houthi targets affiliated with the security and intelligence apparatus and the army in the Sana'a area."
