Earlier Wednesday morning, organizers of the Global Resilience Flotilla announced that a second boat from the flotilla, carrying activists and aid for the Gaza Strip, was attacked by a drone while anchored in Tunisian waters Tuesday night. This came a day after they announced a similar attack on a first boat on Monday night.

The flotilla, which set sail from Barcelona, ​​Spain, bound for Gaza in an effort to "break the Israeli blockade" of the Palestinian enclave, said, "A second boat from our fleet, the Alma, was attacked by a drone while anchored in Tunisian waters."

He added in a statement on his Instagram page that the strike caused a fire on the deck of the vessel, which was quickly extinguished without anyone being injured.

According to the statement, the British-flagged boat "Alma" was targeted in Tunisian waters off Sidi Bou Said, a northern suburb of Tunis. The statement explained that the boat "suffered damage from a fire on its upper deck. The fire has since been extinguished, and all passengers and crew members are safe."

The flotilla consists of the Freedom Flotilla Federation, the Global Gaza Movement, the Steadfastness Flotilla, and the Malaysian Sumud Nusantara organization, and includes hundreds of activists from more than 40 countries.

Israel has previously piracy against ships sailing alone towards Gaza, seizing them and deporting the activists on board.

This is the first time that this number of ships have sailed together towards the Gaza Strip.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving 64,605 ​​Palestinians dead, 163,319 wounded, most of them children and women, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that has killed 399 Palestinians, including 140 children.
