Minister of Manpower Yassierli emphasized the importance of preparing the younger generation to face the challenges of the future world of work, especially for green jobs .
This, said Yassierli, is in line with efforts to realize the country's grand vision, namely Golden Indonesia 2045, where Indonesia becomes a developed country and enters the top five economic powers in the world.
"To make this happen, the role of our students is crucial and we must prepare now. This is a challenge we must face together," said Minister of Manpower Yassierli in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
Furthermore, the Minister of Manpower emphasized that by 2045, green jobs are expected to become increasingly dominant in the employment structure.
However, he believes that many universities have not yet prepared a curriculum that supports the creation of a workforce with green competencies.
"In fact, green jobs are jobs that contribute to preserving or restoring the environment, whether through specific tasks, specific skills, the implementation of environmentally friendly processes, or producing environmentally friendly output ," said the Minister of Manpower.
For this reason, Yassierli also reminded the younger generation, especially students, to continue honing themselves through literacy and continuous learning.
"We can't predict future challenges with certainty. Therefore, the key is learning. Some things are discussed in lectures, but others must be learned independently. A spirit of lifelong learning is the key to facing change," he said.
According to the Minister of Manpower, vocational education plays a central role in preparing superior human resources capable of competing in the green economy era.
"With the right policies, training, and ecosystem support, Indonesia is believed to be capable of accelerating the workforce transition to green jobs while simultaneously supporting the achievement of sustainable development," he said.
