The Ministry of Communication and Digital has handled a total of 2.1 million online gambling content in the digital space from October 20, 2024, to September 16, 2025.
"From October 20 of last year until yesterday, September 16, we have taken down more than 2.8 million pieces of negative content from Indonesia's digital space, with 2.1 million of them being gambling content," said Alexander Sabar, Director General of Digital Space Supervision at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Alexander detailed the judol content that has been handled including 1,932,131 content on sites or IPs, 97,779 content from file sharing platforms , 94,004 content on Meta, 35,092 content on Google, 17,417 content on platform X, 1,742 content on Telegram, 1,001 content on TikTok, 14 content on Line, and three content on app stores.
"If we compare that number to the capacity of the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, for example, it's 20 times the capacity of the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, assuming each seat is equivalent to one dangerous container," he explained.
"This certainly gives us an idea that the threat we face is very big," he added.
He emphasized that the content removal was carried out to prevent the spread of dangerous and illegal content in the digital space, not to silence criticism or the aspirations of citizens.
