PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir again answered journalists' questions about who will coach the Indonesian national football team for the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand later this year.
In a press conference at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, Tuesday, Erick was still reluctant to mention the name of the Garuda Muda coach because he said it was still "too early" to announce it.
"It's too early to name names because the process is ongoing, and we remember that the SEA Games is a multi-event event. This means that we and the government will have a role to play together to determine the targets and plans. That's what we have to do," said Erick.
The current Garuda Muda coach is Gerald Vanenburg. However, the Dutchman's ability to coach the team at the 2025 SEA Games remains in doubt following his performance at the 2025 ASEAN U-23 Championship in July and the 2026 Asian U-23 Cup Qualifiers this month.
