In Libya, activists announced on Friday that the Omar al-Mukhtar flotilla was ready to set sail as part of the international fleet. The announcement was made during a press conference and a solidarity vigil held in Algeria Square in the capital, Tripoli. Participating in the Libyan flotilla are former Prime Minister Omar al-Hassi and a group of Arab and foreign solidarity activists.

Al-Hassi explained that the Libyan fleet will carry local and international activists working peacefully and in humanitarian capacity, carrying relief supplies including food, medicine, water, and winter clothing. He confirmed that the number of naval vessels participating in the "Resilience Flotilla" exceeds 50 ships, emphasizing that the primary goal is to lift the blockade that has caused a deadly famine in Gaza.

He added: "Palestine does not need the passing pity or the rhetoric we have been hearing for more than 60 years... Palestine now needs an international support project and a stand with global human rights and humanitarian figures, especially those who love peace and support the opposition to the occupation in Palestine."

In Morocco, several cities witnessed night marches on Friday evening, called for by the Moroccan Committee for Supporting the Nation's Causes. Participants raised slogans demanding an end to the Israeli aggression and the starvation of Palestinians, while affirming support for the "Resilience Flotilla" on its journey to Gaza. The cities of Sidi Yahya, Salé, Kelaat Sraghna, and Abi Jaad were among the areas that witnessed these demonstrations.

Around 20 ships set sail last Sunday as part of the "Global Resilience Flotilla" from the Spanish port of Barcelona, ​​followed by another convoy from the Italian port of Genoa. The ships are scheduled to meet up with the Maghreb fleet, which will set sail from Tunisia next Sunday, before continuing their journey to Gaza in the coming days.

The Steadfastness Flotilla includes the Freedom Flotilla Union, the Global Gaza Movement, the Steadfastness Flotilla, and the Malaysian Steadfastness Nusantara Organization.

Israel has been blockading Gaza for 18 years, leaving approximately 1.5 million Palestinians out of a population of approximately 2.4 million in the Strip homeless after their homes were destroyed by the ongoing war of extermination that has lasted for nearly two years.

Since March 2, Israel has closed all crossings into Gaza, preventing any food, medical treatment, or humanitarian aid from entering the Strip. This has plunged the Strip into famine, despite the backlog of aid trucks at its borders.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving 64,300 Palestinians dead and 162,005 wounded, most of them children and women. More than 9,000 are missing, hundreds of thousands are displaced, and 376 Palestinians, including 134 children, are facing famine.
