Ankara: We are ready to participate in the "task force" in Gaza, and we have extensive experience in peacekeeping operations.

Sources in the Turkish Ministry of Defense stated that "the armed forces are ready to carry out any mission officially assigned to them," adding that they "have participated in dozens of international missions as part of multinational forces to establish security and peace in various regions around the world."

The same sources continued: "The Turkish army's long experience in peacekeeping operations has earned it a high professional reputation and respect from all parties," stressing that the Turkish army is distinguished by its professionalism, discipline, and balance in its field operations, and enjoys widespread international acclaim.

She noted that Turkey views bringing peace to Gaza as a humanitarian and regional priority, in line with statements by the Turkish leadership, which have repeatedly called for an end to the aggression and the lifting of the blockade. She explained that "Turkey's previous experiences in the Balkans, Somalia, Afghanistan, and Lebanon demonstrate its readiness to contribute effectively to efforts to achieve regional and international peace."

In this context, the Turkish Ministry of Defense affirmed in a statement that humanitarian aid must be delivered immediately to Gaza, given the severe humanitarian suffering it has endured for two years. Reconstruction efforts must also begin immediately, expressing hope that the ceasefire will contribute to establishing a just and lasting peace and ultimately a two-state solution.

PKK/YPG terrorist

The statement touched on the missions carried out by the Turkish Armed Forces last week, which included capturing a PKK/YPG terrorist, continuing search and ground survey operations within and outside Turkey's borders, and discovering and destroying caves, shelters, hideouts, mines, and explosive devices.

The statement confirmed that the Turkish Armed Forces were able to neutralize numerous weapons, ammunition, and various materials seized from terrorists, noting that they have destroyed a total of 664 kilometers of tunnels in the Syrian operational areas so far, including 276 kilometers in Tal Rifaat and 388 kilometers in Manbij.

The statement commemorated "the sixth anniversary of Operation Peace Spring, which was launched on October 9, 2019, to ensure the security of Türkiye's borders and its people, and to prevent attempts to establish a terrorist corridor in southern Turkey."

Strengthening defense industries

The Turkish Ministry of Defense addressed efforts to strengthen local and national defense industries, noting that the Land Forces Command has completed testing and receiving various quantities of 5.56mm infantry rifles and backpack jamming systems.

She noted that she participated in the 5th Military Summit on Radar and Border Security, held in Ankara on October 7 and 8, adding that she also completed the delivery of various quantities and calibers of weapons and ammunition, most notably penetrating bombs.
