Collins vs. Lorente in a two-game championship clash ends in a draw

The World Boxing Council (WBC) announced that the featherweight (57.1 kg) fight between Nathaniel Collins and Cristobal Lorente, which had two championship titles at stake, ended in a draw at the Braehead Arena, Glasgow, Scotland.

"After twelve incredibly merciless rounds, the judges were unable to determine a winner and declared the fight a draw, allowing both fighters to retain their respective belts," the WBC said in a statement on its official website, which was monitored in Jakarta on Tuesday.

England's Collins arrives with the WBC Silver featherweight title. He is an undefeated local star and faces Spain's Lorente, the European featherweight champion.

From the start of the fight, both fighters demonstrated that there was no room for calculation or even miscalculation. Collins, quick and technical, sought to dominate the fight with his jab from mid-range, while Lorente fearlessly advanced, attacking his opponent's body and closing the distance with aggressive punch combinations.

The action was relentless and thrilling, with alternating moments of dominance keeping the crowd on their feet. Collins landed clean punches and displayed defensive skills, but Lorente countered with relentless pressure, resilience, and tempo.

After twelve rounds of high intensity, the judges scored the fight 115-113 for Collins, 115-113 for Lorente, and 114-114 for both boxers.

With the draw, both boxers retain their respective titles. Collins retains the green and gold belt he won after defeating Lee McGregor via technical knockout (TKO) last May.

Despite maintaining an undefeated record of 17 wins with 8 knockouts , the boxer nicknamed "The Nightmare" has added one draw to his record. Meanwhile, Lorente, who also remains undefeated with 20 wins, has also added three draws to his record.
