Men's gymnastics coach Jonathan Mangiring Sianturi outlined the challenges his team will face in the performance assessments at the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
According to Jonathan, there are several new code points that require his athletes to adapt more quickly.
"In gymnastics, the most important thing is to do your best in training, but achieving your best in training is a long process. Now, there's a new point code, many new movements, and the values of certain items are being assessed. Some have been raised slightly, while others have been lowered," Jonathan said at the Indonesia Arena mixed zone in Jakarta on Friday.
"Then they also adjusted the composition. So it's not the same. I also said don't take risks now. But he wants to give his best performance," the former national athlete continued.
The Indonesian Gymnastics Federation (FGI) has fielded eight athletes to compete in the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, which will take place from October 19 to 25 at the Indonesia Arena.
