The joint statement included Turkey, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Libya, Djibouti, as well as Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Gambia, and Nigeria.xaa
The statement considered the Knesset's ratification a "flagrant violation of international law and UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334, which condemns all Israeli measures aimed at changing the demographic composition, character, and legal status of the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967."
The countries affirmed that "Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories," and welcomed "the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice issued on 22 October 2025 on Israel's obligations in the occupied Palestinian territories," in which it affirmed Israel's obligation to ensure that the population of the occupied Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip, is provided with the basic necessities of daily life.
The states commended the Court's decision requiring Israel to agree to facilitate relief programs by all available means for the benefit of the population, including through the United Nations and its agencies. They also commended the Court's reaffirmation of "the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent State."
The signatories of the statement warned against the continuation of unilateral and illegal Israeli policies and practices, and called on the international community to "assume its legal and moral responsibilities and compel Israel to halt its dangerous escalation and illegal actions in the occupied Palestinian territories."
They called on the international community to support "the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent and sovereign state on the June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, as this is the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability in the region."
On Wednesday, the Israeli Knesset approved, in a preliminary reading, a bill to impose Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank, and another to annex the Ma'ale Adumim settlement east of Jerusalem.
The Israeli Knesset said on its website: "The preliminary reading of the bill to apply the sovereignty of the State of Israel (annexation) to the lands of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) was approved."
He added that 25 members of parliament supported the West Bank annexation bill, submitted by the leader of the right-wing Noam party, Avi Maoz, while 24 members opposed it. The Knesset has 120 members.
Regarding the annexation of the Ma'ale Adumim settlement, Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the bill submitted by Yisrael Beiteinu party leader Avigdor Lieberman to apply sovereignty over the settlement passed its preliminary reading in the Knesset plenum with 32 members in favor and 9 opposed.
On Wednesday, the International Court of Justice ruled that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip "have not received adequate supplies" of aid, and ordered Israel to allow and facilitate aid access to the Strip and to stop using starvation as a weapon of war.
This came in a non-binding legal advisory opinion issued by the Court on Israel's obligations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, at the request of the UN General Assembly in December 2024.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has perpetrated a two-year genocide in Gaza, killing 68,280 people and wounding 170,375 others. This campaign, which included killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, has ignored all international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
