Instagram makes all teen accounts "PG-13"

Instagram makes all teen accounts "PG-13"

Instagram is reportedly carrying out a major update specifically to regulate teenagers' accounts and will only allow teenagers to view content appropriate for their age.

This system is like the "PG-13" status that is usually seen in films or shows on TV, with this system Instagram makes it so that teen accounts will not be able to access content that displays nudity, sexual content, or suggestive poses from teens.

As reported by The Verge, Tuesday (14/10) local time, not only that, teenagers will also not see recommended content containing harsh curses or risky actions.

"Just as you might see some suggestive content or hear some strong language in a PG-13 movie, teens might occasionally see something like that on Instagram — but we'll continue to do everything we can to keep those instances to a minimum," Instagram wrote in an announcement on Tuesday.

Last year, Instagram began classifying all users under 18 as teen accounts, applying restrictions that apply to children under 16 to more young users.
