Israel intercepts a missile fired from Yemen and announces the closure of airspace at Ben Gurion Airport.

The army said in a statement that "the Israeli Air Force intercepted a missile fired from Yemen, after the sirens were activated in accordance with established protocol," without mentioning any injuries or damage.

Channel 12 reported that the airspace at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv was closed to air traffic following the missile launch.

No injuries or material damage have been reported so far, and there was no immediate comment on the operation from the Ansar Allah group (Houthis), which has carried out similar attacks against Israel since the outbreak of the war in Gaza.

A drone claimed by the Houthis last month penetrated Israeli air defenses and exploded in the resort town of Eilat, injuring 50 people. In response, Israel launched airstrikes on Houthi-linked sites in Sana'a, killing nine people and wounding more than 170 others.

The Houthis continue to target Israel with missiles and drones, as well as attack ships linked to or heading toward it, in support of the Gaza Strip.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, leaving 67,074 martyrs and 169,430 wounded, most of them children and women, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 459 Palestinians, including 154 children.
