Preparations are underway in the West Bank to receive 1,968 prisoners as part of the exchange deal, while the occupation forces raid their families' homes.

This came according to lists published by the Palestinian Prisoners Club, the Prisoners' Information Office (non-governmental), and the Prisoners' Affairs Authority of the Palestine Liberation Organization, a copy of which was received by Anadolu Agency.

According to the lists, the prisoners to be released by Israel include 1,718 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip arrested after October 7, 2023, and 250 prisoners serving life sentences or long prison terms.

According to Palestinian institutions, 154 prisoners on the release list will be deported outside the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem.

Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the Israeli Prison Service received orders to release Palestinian prisoners as part of the exchange deal.

The Israeli Walla news website quoted what it described as informed sources as saying that the final list of Palestinian prisoners includes 195 prisoners serving life sentences. The source added that the Shin Bet security service vetoed approximately 100 names and excluded 25 prominent leaders.

In this context, Israeli occupation forces raided a number of homes of Palestinian prisoners scheduled to be released today, Monday, in several towns and villages in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate.

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) quoted security sources as saying that "the occupation forces raided the homes of prisoners in the towns of Abwein, Mazra'a al-Nubani, and Aroura north of Ramallah, Beit Rima, Kafr Ni'ma, Deir Ibzi', Ein Arik, and Nabi Saleh northwest, Na'ali west, Deir Jarir and Silwad east, and the Umm al-Sharait neighborhood and al-Amari camp in the city of al-Bireh."

Israeli occupation forces tightened their military measures at the Ein Siniya and Atara checkpoints north of Ramallah, and abused a citizen at the Ein Siniya checkpoint after stopping dozens of vehicles entering the city.

On Friday, the Israeli Ministry of Justice published the names of 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences who are expected to be released under the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

Earlier Monday morning, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that it had decided to release 20 living Israeli prisoners as part of the Gaza ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.

The Al-Qassam Brigades said in a statement that, as part of the "Al-Aqsa Flood Prisoner Exchange Deal," it had decided to release the remaining Israeli prisoners it holds.

For its part, the Israeli army radio said that the list of names of the 20 living prisoners published by Hamas "matches the list known to Israel."

In the same context, the official Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that Red vehicles were heading to the meeting point to receive the Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip.

On Thursday, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had reached an agreement on the first phase of his ceasefire and prisoner exchange plan, following indirect negotiations between the two sides in Sharm el-Sheikh, with the participation of Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar, and under US supervision.

Under the agreement, Israel is scheduled to release 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences, in addition to approximately 1,700 others arrested by Tel Aviv from the Gaza Strip after October 7, 2023.

Tel Aviv estimates that there are 48 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, 20 of whom are still alive. Meanwhile, more than 11,100 Palestinians are languishing in its prisons, suffering from torture, starvation, and medical neglect. Many of these Palestinians have been killed, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.

The first phase of the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel went into effect at 12:00 noon on Friday, Jerusalem time (09:00 GMT), after the Israeli government approved the agreement at dawn.

The agreement is based on a plan proposed by Trump, which calls for a ceasefire, a gradual withdrawal of the Israeli army, a mutual release of prisoners, the immediate entry of aid into the Gaza Strip, and the disarmament of Hamas.
