Sacramento Kings extend Keegan Murray's contract

The Sacramento Kings have officially extended forward Keegan Murray's contract by five years and worth US$140 million, ensuring he remains with the club through the 2030-2031 NBA season.

According to the NBA website quoted in Jakarta, Thursday, the agreement was announced by player agent Mark Bartlestein and first reported by ESPN.

Murray previously had one year remaining on his rookie contract , having been selected fourth overall by the Kings in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Murray has been a key pillar of the Kings' resurgence in recent seasons. He was selected to the 2023 NBA All-Rookie Team and finished fifth in Rookie of the Year voting, after helping Sacramento end its 16-season playoff drought , the longest streak in league history.

Since his debut season, Murray has been known as one of the team's most consistent long-range shooters. In his first three seasons, he consistently made at least 150 three-pointers.

In addition, the 24-year-old player also plays an important role in the Kings' wing defense.
