Social media giants like Snapchat, Meta, which owns Instagram and Facebook, and TikTok have responded to Australia's social media ban on children under 16, but they have stated they respect and will comply with the regulations.
Euronews reported on Tuesday (28/10) that the rules banning social media in Australia for children under the age of 16 will come into effect in about two months and now the giant companies are preparing to comply with the applicable provisions.
Children under the age of 16 will no longer be able to create or maintain accounts on social media platforms such as Facebook, X, Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube under new Australian laws from December 10, 2025.
