The occupation plans a long-term military presence in Gaza and continues to bomb civilians and starve the population despite the Trump plan.

Citing unnamed informed sources, the Authority reported that Israeli officials sent a letter to Washington detailing the plan, which includes the army remaining in a buffer zone within the Gaza Strip's borders, the Philadelphi Corridor on the border with Egypt, and the "Hill 70" or "Muntar Hill" area east of the Shuja'iyya neighborhood east of Gaza City. This area provides fire and visual control over large areas of the northern Gaza Strip, including Gaza City and the town and refugee camp of Jabalia.

The sources explained that the occupation army will begin a gradual withdrawal after the recovery of all detainees, temporarily remaining on the yellow line inside the Gaza Strip. It will then later retreat to the red line with the entry of foreign forces from a US state to manage the security situation. It will then reposition itself along the border while maintaining control over strategic axes.

Military escalation and ongoing raids in the Gaza Strip

Since dawn on Sunday, the Israeli occupation forces have intensified their raids on large areas of the Gaza Strip, targeting residential neighborhoods and displaced persons' tents, resulting in the deaths of six Palestinians and the injury of others.

Four Palestinians waiting for aid were killed northwest of Rafah, and others were injured in artillery shelling of displaced persons' tents east of Khan Yunis. Meanwhile, fighter jets launched raids on the northern part of the city as part of an aid distribution mechanism rejected by the Palestinians and the United Nations, which they describe as "death traps."

A Palestinian was killed and others were injured in shelling of the upper floors of residential buildings in the Sabra neighborhood, north of Gaza City. Artillery also targeted the Shuja'iyya neighborhood intersection and areas north of the Bureij refugee camp.

On the Netzarim front, a Palestinian was killed and others were injured near the distribution center. The shelling also included the Al-Azhar University building and areas east of the Maghazi refugee camp and north of the Bureij refugee camp.

The raids came as US President Donald Trump declared that Hamas was "ready for a lasting peace," calling on Tel Aviv to immediately halt its bombing and release Israeli prisoners. Meanwhile, Egypt announced it would host delegations from Israel and Hamas next Monday to discuss the details of a prisoner exchange deal in accordance with Trump's plan, which includes the release of Israeli prisoners, a ceasefire, and the disarmament of Hamas.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed his support for the plan, considering it "achieves Israel's objectives from the war." Hebrew media reported that the political leadership had directed the army to "halt the occupation of Gaza City and reduce military activity to a purely defensive nature," despite the ongoing raids and attacks across the Strip.

On September 29, Trump announced a 20-point plan, including the release of Israeli prisoners in Gaza, a ceasefire, and the disarmament of Hamas.

During a press conference with the US President at the White House last Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced his "support for the Trump plan," considering it "achieves Israel's goals from the war."

Tel Aviv estimates that there are 48 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, 20 of whom are still alive. Meanwhile, some 11,100 Palestinians languish in its prisons, suffering from torture, starvation, and medical neglect. Several of these Palestinians have died, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, leaving 67,074 martyrs and 169,430 wounded, most of them children and women, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 459 Palestinians, including 154 children.
