Indonesian women's national basketball team manager Handoyo said the Garuda Pertiwi team has learned a lot during their training camp in the United States in preparation for the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand.
He explained that the players gained knowledge and work ethic from the training system there to improve their individual qualities.
"We see the US as the center of world basketball. So, we're trying to get the players to see the training ethos of basketball players there," Handoyo said in a written statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He said that during the TC there, the squad trained at Impact Basketball Las Vegas, with the guidance of local coaches, and the national coaching team led by Lithuanian coach, Gitautas Kievinas.
Their schedule is packed with intensive training, including several trials against local teams.
