Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Wamenpora RI) Taufik Hidayat said the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta will have a positive impact on athlete development.
"We know that gymnastics is one of the mother sports in Indonesia. So, I hope that the first World Gymnastics Championships held in Indonesia can be a platform for nurturing and developing our young gymnastics athletes. Once again, the government fully supports this championship to ensure its success," said Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Taufik at the opening of the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships at the Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, on Sunday.
Taufik added that the government also wants the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships to be a platform for Indonesian artistic gymnastics athletes to excel at both the national and international levels.
He also said that the government strongly supports the 2025 World Gymnastics Championships.
"We know that this World Gymnastics Championship has been in preparation for a long time. Ita Yuliati, Chairwoman of the Indonesian Gymnastics Federation (FGI), and I also met with President Prabowo, and he strongly supports the success of this event," said the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Indonesian NOC, Raja Sapta Oktohari, said that this year's World Gymnastics Championship was historic, as it was the first time a World Gymnastics Championship could be held in Indonesia, even in Southeast Asia.
