Threads now features "Group Chat" in its app

Meta has reportedly added a new "Group Chat" feature to its competitor X (formerly Twitter) application, Threads.

With this feature, users can send messages to many other users, in one conversation instead of having to send direct messages separately.

As reported by The Verge,  users can create a "Group Chat" to start a new message and add up to 50 other users to the conversation.

The requirement for users who can be added to a chat is that they are also following the Threads account of the user concerned.

Group chat names can be customized to make them easier to identify by topic or participants, similar to how group messages work in Facebook Messenger.
