Turkey's National Security Council affirms its readiness to contribute to any step toward achieving a just and lasting peace in Gaza.

The Council said in a statement that "Israel's policies in Gaza have led to a humanitarian catastrophe," noting that holding those responsible for this disaster accountable has become a shared responsibility of humanity.


He called on international public opinion to take urgent action against the Israeli attacks on Gaza and to implement the will demonstrated by the United Nations in this regard.


In another context, the Turkish National Security Council statement emphasized that Ankara will not tolerate any manifestation of terrorism in neighboring regions and will absolutely not permit any expansion based on terrorism.


He noted that during the meeting, progress toward a "terrorism-free Turkey" was assessed, and the strong will to tear down the wall of terrorism that stands in the way of our nation's future was affirmed, ensuring a lasting atmosphere of peace, prosperity, and security was emphasized.


He noted that "the actors and issues that pose a threat to Syria's territorial integrity, unity, and sovereignty, as well as to Iraq's security, stability, and prosperity, were also assessed, and Turkey's support for combating attempts to drag its neighbors into regional conflicts was affirmed."



Regarding the Cyprus issue, he reiterated Turkey's support for the two-state solution model based on the recognition of the sovereign equality and equal international status of Turkish Cypriots, noting that Turkey will maintain a firm stance against any steps that could negatively impact the climate of peace on the island.


The meeting addressed the current situation regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war, expressing concern over incidents that indicate the risk of the war spreading. The Council expressed Türkiye's readiness to assume greater responsibility for achieving peace.


The Council discussed the process of normalizing relations with Armenia, emphasizing the importance of the transport line, which will enable unimpeded transportation between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan and achieve results that will benefit all countries in the region.


He stated that the latest developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina were discussed, noting that Türkiye supports the country's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and constitutional order.
