West Bank: A Palestinian was martyred in Jerusalem after being attacked by Israeli forces, amid ongoing raids and arrests.

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported that a 57-year-old citizen from the Jenin Governorate was martyred in the town of al-Ram, north of Jerusalem, after being severely beaten on the head by occupation forces. The Red Crescent stated that its crews received the martyr's body at the Qalandia checkpoint and transferred it to the Palestine Medical Complex.

In Qalqilya, occupation forces arrested four young men after raiding and searching their homes, while four others were arrested from the Bethlehem governorate after raids on several areas in and around the city.

The village of Beit Ur al-Fauqa, west of Ramallah, witnessed a serious incident when a settler kidnapped and assaulted four Palestinians on Tuesday evening. Israeli forces intervened to protect the settler and then attacked the residents, injuring four citizens and arresting two of the kidnapped individuals, according to WAFA.

WAFA also reported Tuesday evening that Israeli occupation forces shot an elderly woman with live ammunition in the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, and arrested two young men from Ya'bad and Al-Khader. They also carried out extensive raids in Nablus, Hebron, and Ramallah, including house searches and the conversion of some into military barracks.

The occupation forces also detained journalist Aseel Sadiq and employee Mohammed Barghouthi while they were working on a report in the village of Burqa, near Ramallah, before releasing them later after interrogation.

These attacks coincide with an escalation in military incursions and restrictions on journalists and residents in the West Bank, amid Palestinian warnings of continued Israeli violations against civilians and holy sites.

In parallel with the war of extermination in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation army and settlers in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, killed at least 1,051 Palestinians, injured approximately 10,300, and arrested more than 20,000, including 1,600 children, according to official Palestinian data.

Escalation in Al-Aqsa Mosque

In a related development, a statement issued by the Jerusalem Governorate on Tuesday stated that 9,820 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in just 21 days, including Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who stormed it twice within a week. The statement noted that the recent Jewish holiday season witnessed an unprecedented escalation in the frequency of violations under heavy protection from the occupation forces.

She explained that the total number of those who stormed the mosque during four Jewish holidays—Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and Sukkot—reached approximately 9,820, "under heavy protection from Israeli occupation forces."

The Jerusalem Governorate's statement emphasized that these holidays "marked a dangerous turning point in the course of Israeli violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque, as the extreme right-wing Israeli government transformed these occasions into a political and religious cover for a Judaization project targeting the heart of the Holy City, in an attempt to impose new facts on the ground and undermine the historical and legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque."

She reported that the raids were "accompanied by military reinforcements,  Jerusalem, the closure of its main streets, and the installation of iron and concrete barriers at the entrances to Jerusalem's neighborhoods and towns."

The governorate called on "the United Nations, the Security Council, and international organizations to take immediate action to halt these violations and protect Islamic and Christian holy sites in the occupied city."

Palestinians assert that Israel is intensifying its crimes to Judaize East Jerusalem, including Al-Aqsa Mosque, and obliterate its Arab and Islamic identity.

The Palestinians cling to East Jerusalem as the capital of their desired state, based on international legitimacy resolutions that do not recognize Israel's occupation of the city in 1967, nor its annexation in 1980.
