The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) announced, "The child Aysam Mualla, from the town of Beita, south of the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank, was martyred after inhaling gas from bombs fired by the Israeli army about two weeks ago, during the suppression of olive pickers," without further details.
As part of the escalating attacks, the Israeli army stormed the city of Tubas in the northern West Bank with a number of military vehicles, deployed foot troops in the city, and obstructed the passage of vehicles, according to Wafa.
A military force also stormed the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, where it "conducted a search in the eastern part of the town and seized camera recordings."
In the southern West Bank, Wafa reported that a woman sustained bruises and contusions after being detained by Israeli occupation forces at the entrance to the Al-Fawwar camp, south of Hebron, and assaulted by beating her.
She added that "the occupation forces stationed at the entrance to Al-Fawwar camp detained the girl Aya Saeed Muhammad Jaber from the city of Hebron, interrogated her in the field, and assaulted her, which led to her sustaining bruises and contusions," noting that she was released and transferred to Dura Governmental Hospital near the camp.
In the southern West Bank, Wafa also reported that the army arrested anti-settlement activist Tariq al-Hathalin during a raid on the village of Umm al-Khair, south of Hebron.
She also noted the storming of the town of Tuqu’ southeast of Bethlehem, where the army fired “poisonous gas and sound bombs, and arrested the boy Ali Mahmoud Nawara.”
In northeast Jerusalem, the Israeli army stormed the town of Hizma, firing tear gas and stun grenades at Palestinians. Wafa news agency reported that "Israeli occupation forces stormed the center of Hizma, patrolled its streets, and indiscriminately fired tear gas and stun grenades at residents and passing vehicles."
Ongoing settler attacks
Two Palestinians were injured in an attack carried out by Israeli settlers in the Tulkarm governorate in the northern occupied West Bank on Tuesday, during which they set fire to homes and vehicles belonging to Palestinian citizens, according to eyewitnesses.
Voice of Palestine radio (government-run) said that ambulance crews were treating two young men who were injured in a large-scale attack carried out by settlers on the outskirts of the town of Beit Lid, east of the city of Tulkarm.
Eyewitnesses reported that a group of settlers stormed the "Al-Ladan" area, located between the towns of Beit Lid and Deir Sharaf, and set fire to tin dwellings, tents and vehicles owned by Palestinian Bedouin residents.
For its part, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA noted that a large-scale attack by settlers targeted "industrial and agricultural facilities near the town of Beit Lid, which led to large fires and injuries to a number of citizens."
She added that "the settlers set fire to a number of Palestinian vehicles inside the industrial area known as Al-Daladin in the vicinity of Beit Lid, including 4 trucks belonging to Al-Junaidi Dairy Factory, and caused damage to the factory."
Nahalin raid
Earlier today, the Israeli occupation army stormed the town of Nahalin in the southern occupied West Bank and issued demolition orders for seven agricultural warehouses, and also stormed other towns.
Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces stormed the areas of Khallat al-Adas, Wadi Salem and Banias in the town of Nahalin, west of Bethlehem, and delivered notices to demolish 7 agricultural warehouses on the pretext of building without a permit in Area C. The witnesses confirmed that the warehouses were built on private land.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission (official), Israel has carried out 1,014 demolition operations in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, affecting 3,679 structures, including 1,288 inhabited homes, 244 uninhabited homes, 962 agricultural and other structures, since October 2023.
"Holocaust"
For his part, the head of the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Affairs Authority, Mu'ayyad Sha'ban, described on Tuesday the fires set by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank as a "holocaust" directed against the citizens.
This came in a statement issued by Shaaban, following the burning of Palestinian vehicles, homes and property by settlers on Tuesday in an attack in the northern West Bank.
The head of the official body stated in the statement that settlers have killed 36 Palestinians and started 700 fires since October 2023.
He added that "the settler fires are a holocaust directed against the Palestinians," and "constitute an extension of the series of terrorism to which Palestinian villages are subjected, amounting to a holocaust in front of the eyes of the whole world."
The "Holocaust" is a term used to describe the campaigns of the Nazi German government and some of its allies to persecute and eliminate minorities in Europe, including Jews, during World War II (1939-1945).
Shaaban called on the international community "to assume its responsibilities by ensuring that the imposed sanctions go beyond individuals to the level of groups, and that these sanctions rise to the level of official and governmental frameworks that sponsor and support the colonial settlement terrorism project in the Palestinian land."
Since the outbreak of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, various areas of the West Bank have witnessed an unprecedented escalation in settler attacks on Palestinians and their property, particularly in the vicinity of Nablus, Ramallah and Hebron.
These attacks are part of a broad Israeli escalation in the West Bank by the occupation army and settlers, since Tel Aviv, with American support, began its genocidal war in the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023.
The attacks in the West Bank, coinciding with the war on Gaza, resulted in the martyrdom of at least 1,069 Palestinians, the injury of about 10,700, in addition to the arrest of more than 20,500 others.
The Israeli genocide, which began in Tel Aviv on October 8, 2023, and lasted for two years, left more than 69,000 martyrs and 170,000 wounded, most of them women and children.
