Among them are Netanyahu and Gallant... The International Criminal Court calls on UN member states to support the implementation of arrest warrants.

Speaking before the United Nations General Assembly during a discussion of the court's annual report on Tuesday, Akane said that 33 arrest warrants issued by the court have not yet been executed.

Among the arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court are two warrants issued on November 21, 2024, against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, following their commission of war crimes and crimes against humanity against Palestinians in Gaza.

The court president added: "The court calls on all member states of the United Nations to cooperate in the arrest and transfer of individuals wanted in execution of the court's orders," noting that "justice cannot be achieved without states fulfilling their legal obligations."

Akane affirmed that the court "continues its efforts to strengthen its prosecution capabilities," but stressed that "the execution of arrest warrants depends on the cooperation of states," adding: "Despite all the challenges, the International Criminal Court will continue to perform its duties with complete independence and impartiality."
