Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that goalkeeper Ederson will start against Senegal in a friendly match at the Emirates Stadium, London, Saturday evening WIB.
"We respect Senegal. They play with high intensity because they are physically strong and like to play long balls. So it will be very important to play well in the defensive area," said Ancelotti, as quoted on the official website of the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) in Jakarta on Saturday.
Ederson is one of the top goalkeepers on the Brazilian national team, despite often being overshadowed by Alisson Becker. Ederson has made 29 appearances for the "Seleção" squad.
The goalkeeper, who helped Manchester City win six Premier League titles, last played for Brazil in November 2024.
Now, while Alisson is still suffering from a long-term injury, Ederson has been called back to the Brazilian national team by coach Carlo Ancelotti.
The goalkeeper, who currently plays for Fenerbahce in the Turkish League, was deemed the right choice after Brazil was beaten 2-3 by Japan in a previous friendly match in mid-October 2025.
