Borussia Dortmund are targeting a mid-season top spot in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund coach Niko Kovac said his team is targeting a top spot in the 2025/2026 German Bundesliga mid-season standings ahead of their match against VFB Stuttgart at Signal Iduna Park Stadium in Dortmund on Saturday (22/11).

"We want to be at the top in the winter, keep going in the German Cup and pick up points in the Champions League," Kovac said, as quoted on Borussia Dortmund's official website on Friday.

Dortmund have eight matches remaining in all competitions until the end of 2025, including the German Cup and the UEFA Champions League, five of which are Bundesliga matches.

To achieve this target, Kovac is aiming for three points from the match against Stuttgart.

The match has the potential to be a tight one as Stuttgart currently sits in fourth place in the 2025/2026 Bundesliga standings with 21 points from 10 matches, while Dortmund sits in third place with 21 points from 10 matches but has a superior goal difference.
