Croatia qualified for the 2026 World Cup after beating the Faroe Islands 3-1.

The Croatian national team secured their place in the 2026 World Cup finals after securing a convincing 3-1 victory over the Faroe Islands in their ninth match of Group L of the European Zone Qualifiers at the HNK Rijeka Stadium on Saturday morning WIB.

Veteran duo Luka Modric and Ivan Perisic played a key role in the victory that saw Croatia qualify for the World Cup for the seventh time since 1994.

Josko Gvardiol, Petar Musa, and Nikola Vlasic each scored for Croatia. Meanwhile, the Faroe Islands took the lead thanks to a goal from David Turi.

This result ensures Croatia's direct qualification to the 2026 World Cup finals as no other team can match their points tally.

Modric and his teammates currently top the group with 19 points, six points ahead of the Czech Republic in second place with one match remaining, according to FIFA's official website.

Croatia appeared to press from the start, but were shocked by Faroe's quick goal in the 15th minute.
