Chelsea striker Liam Delap said his goal against Barcelona in the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League match at Stamford Bridge Stadium, London, early Wednesday morning WIB, was a dream come true.
"It was absolutely fantastic. You grow up dreaming of nights like this. So it was a special moment for me," Delap said, as quoted on Chelsea's official website on Wednesday.
The English player scored in the 73rd minute after receiving a pass from Enzo Fernandes. The referee initially ruled the goal offside . However, after a VAR review, the goal was confirmed, sealing Chelsea's 3-0 victory over Barcelona.
According to Delap, Chelsea's victory was achieved thanks to the hard work of the entire team. He said every Chelsea player played well and was able to execute coach Enzo Maresca's tactics.
"I believe we're building something great here. We're working hard every day and getting better. We come into every game with a lot of confidence. Today we showed that we can do it against anyone," said the 22-year-old striker.
