Indonesia secured a spot in the final of the 2025 BWF World Tour Super 500 Australian Open after two Indonesian men's doubles pairs, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, will face each other in the semifinals at Quaycentre, Sydney.
Fajar/Fikri advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty in two games, 21-19, 21-15. In another match, Sabar/Reza also put in a solid performance, defeating Japanese pair Kakeru Kumagai/Hiroki Nishi 21-17, 21-13.
"Tomorrow, we're already familiar with each other against Sabar/Reza. So, whoever is best prepared will win. We hope to give our all and win," Fajar said in an official statement from the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI).
