Fidan: Netanyahu is looking for a pretext to resume the genocide in Gaza... and we will continue our support for the people of the Strip.

This came during a joint press conference on Friday with his Estonian counterpart, Margus Tsahkna, following their meeting in the capital, Ankara, where the two ministers discussed regional developments and bilateral relations.

Fidan explained that Turkey has "serious concerns about the future of the fragile ceasefire in Gaza," stressing that "the international community wants the ceasefire to continue and for the displaced to return to their homes."

He stressed the need for Israel to adhere to the ceasefire in order to preserve hopes for lasting peace and continued security in the region.

He added that "humanitarian aid is not entering Gaza in sufficient quantities," stressing that his country "will continue to do everything in its power to support and assist the people of Gaza."

For his part, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said the humanitarian situation in Gaza was "catastrophic" and that "a great deal of pressure" must be put on Israel to stop the suffering of civilians.

Tsakna expressed his gratitude to his Turkish counterpart for his efforts and endeavors in reaching a ceasefire, stressing his country’s support for the two-state solution and the United Nations resolutions relating to Palestine, noting that Estonia had signed the “New York Declaration” on the two-state solution.
