Gastroenterologist Dr. Yelena Pikhotina stated that people suffering from gastritis, stomach ulcers, or gastroesophageal reflux disease should avoid eating tangerines

The doctor warns that excessive consumption of tangerines, even in healthy individuals, can cause allergic reactions, irritation of the stomach lining, and increased acidity . Therefore, it is not recommended to eat more than one or two tangerines per day.

Nevertheless, the doctor points to the benefits of tangerines, saying: "Tangerines are a rich source of vitamin C, organic acids and flavonoids, which help strengthen the immune system and normalize metabolism . They also improve digestion and mood thanks to their essential oils."
