Gibran witnessed the Indonesian national futsal team's 3-1 victory over Australia.

  Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka witnessed the Indonesian National Futsal Team's victory over Australia with a final score of 3-1 in an international friendly match at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno Complex, Jakarta, Saturday (1/11) evening.


The Vice President witnessed the match live accompanied by the CEO & Co-Founder of Games of Society and organizer of the Wonder Futsal Series, Novel Leonardo M.


"The Vice President appreciates the public's enthusiasm and interest in futsal, especially since this event marks the closing event of the National Futsal Championship Series between high schools from 40 cities, from Aceh to Papua," Novel said through the Vice President's Secretariat.


Novel hopes that government support for futsal can continue to be expanded, both through technical assistance, commercial collaboration, and the direct presence of public officials to raise public enthusiasm.




The statement explained that this match is part of a series of international trials for the Indonesian National Futsal Team ahead of the 2025 SEA Games which will be held next December.


Based on the FIFA Futsal World Ranking, Indonesia is currently ranked 21st in the world, while Australia is in 30th position.


This friendly match also served as the culmination of the wondr Futsal Series Grand National Championship and wondr NCFS National Stage, two major tournaments held by Games of Society to strengthen the spirit of sportsmanship and unity among students.


The two events were attended by more than 1,100 futsal teams from across Indonesia, consisting of 960 school teams and 160 university teams from 10 regional areas.


"The Vice President's presence at this match reflects the government's commitment to strengthening the futsal ecosystem in Indonesia, while also providing moral support for young athletes to continue achieving at the regional and international levels," reads a statement from the Vice Presidential Secretariat.
