Grand Theft Auto VI launch delayed again

Grand Theft Auto (GTA) video game developer Rockstar Games has again postponed the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI.

According to a report by The Verge on Friday, GTA VI was originally scheduled to release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025, but the developer later decided to push the launch to May 26, 2026.

Now, the developers have announced that Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026.

"We apologize for adding to what we realize is already a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to complete the game with the level of polish you deserve and expect," Rockstar Games said in a statement.

Despite the longer completion time, the game's developers promise that players will be able to experience the vast Leonidas and modern Vice City in Grand Theft Auto VI.

Rockstar Games' parent company, Take-two, is confident about GTA VI's final release date.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said the company would give the game more time if it still needed polish.

"We said when we set the final date, if a game needs more polish to be the best version of it, then we'll give it more time," he told The Game Business .

"And that's exactly what happened. We're very excited about this release date. It's in the same fiscal year, it just happens to be the perfect release time, and of course we're very supportive of Rockstar's approach," he added.
