The National Basketball Association (NBA) recorded a positive start to the 2025-2026 season, achieving its highest opening-month viewership in 15 years across various national broadcast platforms in the United States (US).
The NBA website reported on Saturday that more than 60 million viewers in the US have watched regular season games of the top-tier basketball league in the US, which are broadcast on NBC/Peacock, ESPN, and Amazon Prime Video throughout the first four weeks of this season.
Those numbers don't compare to the 2011-2012 season, which started on Christmas Day, one of the most-watched times on the NBA calendar.
This season marks the first year of an 11-year, $76 billion broadcast partnership between the NBA and its broadcast partners.
Beyond television, the NBA's digital performance has shown significant improvement. League content across social media platforms, both NBA-operated and third-party, has garnered more than 30 billion views, a record high for the same period.
