PPATK says the number of illegal gambling transactions throughout 2025 has decreased

The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) reported that online gambling (judol) transactions reached Rp155 trillion in 2025, a 57 percent decrease compared to the previous year.

"If online gambling transactions reached Rp359 trillion in the first 12 months of 2024, as of today, we have managed to reduce them to Rp155 trillion by the third quarter of 2025," said PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana at a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday.

Ivan explained that the decline in transactions also contributed to a decline in deposits related to judol. In 2024, total deposits from judol players reached IDR 51 trillion. However, this year, it only reached IDR 24.9 trillion, a decrease of more than 45 percent.

"This is certainly thanks to the collaboration of all of us, especially the Ministry of Communication and Digital. This proves that there has been a 70 percent decrease in public access to online gambling sites," he said.

In addition to blocking websites, he stated that the government, through the Ministry of Communication and Digital, had also blocked accounts affiliated with judol.

He also presented other data showing that 80 percent of judol players earn less than IDR 5 million per month. Compared to 2024, the number of players in this low-income category has decreased by 67.92 percent. Meanwhile, the overall number of online gamblers today has decreased by 68.32 percent compared to last year.
