The Israeli army chief of staff discusses the situation in Gaza with his American counterpart.

The Israeli army said in a statement that "Ken, who has been visiting Tel Aviv since Friday, conducted an assessment of the situation in the Gaza Strip with Zamir," explaining that they discussed the situation in Gaza and regional challenges in the near and far arenas, without further details.

The Israeli army released footage showing Ken visiting a military site alongside Zamir, without providing details about the site.

On Friday, Keane conducted a reconnaissance tour by Israeli helicopter over the Gaza Strip, as part of an official visit to Tel Aviv to discuss regional developments.

This is the second visit by the US military official after he accompanied President Donald Trump in mid-October on a tour during which he met with leaders of the Israeli occupation army.

The Hebrew newspaper Yediot Aharonot said on Friday that Kean arrived in Tel Aviv on the same day and met Zamir "at the American base in Kiryat Gat, and they held a joint session with military leaders to discuss regional developments."

The newspaper indicated that Keane conducted a reconnaissance tour in an Israeli helicopter over the Gaza Strip, without revealing further details about the nature of the tour.

Last week, the US Central Command opened the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) in Kiryat Gat with the aim of "supporting the stability of Gaza," and appointed US Army Central Command chief Patrick Frank as its military commander.

The center is the first international operational platform established by the US Central Command in Israel to monitor developments in Gaza after the ceasefire agreement, which came into effect on October 10, based on Trump’s plan, which guarantees an end to the war, a gradual withdrawal of the occupation army, along with a prisoner exchange deal, and the immediate entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

Since October 2023, the Israeli genocide in Gaza has left 68,858 Palestinian martyrs and 170,664 wounded, most of them children and women. Despite the ceasefire that came into effect on October 10, according to the Trump plan, the occupation army has violated it more than once, killing and wounding hundreds of Palestinians.
