The Taiwanese women's national team coach is enthusiastic about facing Indonesia in a friendly match.

Taiwanese women's national team coach Prasobchoke Chokemor expressed his enthusiasm for the friendly match against the Indonesian women's national team to be held at Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, on Saturday.

This match is part of Taiwan's preparations for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup which will take place in Australia.

"We are currently preparing for next year's Asian Cup. This match is an important preparation for us," Chokemor said in a pre-match press conference on Friday, as quoted in an audio recording.

According to him, the invitation to the trial from Indonesia provided an opportunity for the team to strengthen their cohesiveness and understand the atmosphere of international matches.

"This is a great opportunity for the teams to get to know each other and better understand the international football ecosystem," he said.

According to FIFA rankings, Taiwan is ranked 42nd in the world, while Indonesia is ranked 106th. In the last meeting in Group D of the 2026 Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers at the Indomilk Arena, July 5, 2025, Taiwan defeated Indonesia 2-1.

However, Chokemor emphasized that the FIFA rankings were not the main focus in this friendly match.

He also emphasized that scores are not the main priority.

"We came here to prepare, boost the team's motivation, and see what the atmosphere is like in the stadium," he said.

Chokemor assessed that the Indonesian women's national team under coach Akira Higashiyama has shown significant progress, including the presence of several diaspora players.

"From the previous match, the Indonesian team has changed a lot. We've also experienced changes in our players. We will focus on the upcoming match to take a positive step forward," he said.

Taiwanese player Chen Ying Hui added that the entire squad is ready after undergoing a training camp.

"For this match, all the players want to enjoy the game," he said.
