The Tokopedia marketplace platform and TikTok Shop by Tokopedia (TikTok Shop) are committed to driving digital economic growth in more regions in Indonesia.
Stephanie Susilo, Senior Director of Tokopedia and TikTok E-commerce Indonesia, stated that this year, the digital sector is estimated to contribute 8 percent to the national gross domestic product (GDP), and could increase to 9-10 percent by the end of 2025.
E-commerce, he continued in his statement in Jakarta on Thursday, remains a key driver, contributing around 72 percent of the total value of the digital economy. Indonesia is now the largest digital market in Southeast Asia, with the potential to reach US$600 billion by 2030.
"As an effort to encourage the growth of the digital economy in Indonesia, we are holding a series of major monthly campaigns on Tokopedia and TikTok Shop," he said.
The program includes the Salary Sale which starts every 24th or 25th, and the Shake Promo which culminates on the same date in the following month.
The twin-date campaign of the 10.10 Rocking Promo on both marketplace platforms, he added, has proven to drive the local digital economy.
