Social media platform X has started rolling out a feature called "About this account" which displays a number of basic account information, including the account creator's domicile, the number of username changes, the account creation date, and how the X application was downloaded on the device.
As reported by Tech Crunch on Monday, this step was taken to suppress the activity of accounts run by bots, especially amid the increasing capabilities of artificial intelligence.
The feature's launch plans were first announced last October by X's Head of Product Nikita Bier. At the time, Bier said the company would test a feature that would display the account information of X employees, including herself.
